All about the new book - The Story of Brockville

The Rotary Rink
The open-air Rotary skating rink was popular between
1937—1950 and was the home of the Juvenile Hockey League. This new exhibit includes a beautiful painting entitled "The Rotary Rink" by Thomas J. Hare, who is a local artist. Photographs from the Museum's archives are also on display.

Hodgson & Sons
On display in the main foyer is a magnificently preserved framed certificate of achievement awarded to the Hodgson & Sons — local produce dealers from the 1870’s. Also on display is a unique selection of colourful 1886 pennants from the American Canoe Association.

The Railway Connections of Brockville

In the 1800s, Brockville became an important railway terminal with three rail lines converging in the city. The convergence of these three railways had significant economic and developmental impact on the city.

This new exhibit includes a representation of the office of the Grand Trunk Railway Agent circa 1906. Also on display is a photographic collection depicting the various aspects of Brockville's railway history.

Barnum Poster
During renovations of a Brockville home, these panels from a early Barnum poster were found incorporated into the interior walls of the house.

Missing elements were recreated with the help of the Thousand Islands Secondary School art class to produce the panel now on display.
