Brockville Officers Training Camp

The 1942 Invasion of Brockville

As part of the training, and as a fundraiser the OTC staged the 3rd Victory Loan Campaign on Oct. 31, 1942 a recapturing of Brockville from the "Nazis". The Germans invaded Brockville on October 31st, 1942, as a Victory Loan Show. The staged attack involved holding the Mayor of Brockville, MacOdrum, and Town Council as prisoners in Victoria Hall. The Canadian forces attacked in an attempt to defeat the "Germans" and liberate the town. The Canadians were successful in capturing the Germans and marching them down West Market Street. All those involved were officers from the OTC in Brockville, and candidates for the OTC.
